A Mother's Kiss

Acidic mists clamber
skyward, regurgitated
from mechanical maws.

The earth is ripped;
blood red gashes opened
as waste is packed into
open wounds and
scabbed over to putrefy
in darkness.

Sparkling streams tumble
mirthfully over beds of
noxious rubble.

Inhaling the rancid
vapors of an uncaring
world, she softly touches
her lips to the tortured land
and exhales life renewed.

    your take on this prompt is amazing. the imagery is fantastic, and quite vivid. I'm having trouble putting the words together due to lack of sleep. I personally like the last stanza, because how she healed the land and made it whole again.. You did an fabulous job with this poem

    good luck
