wait still waits...

An old wooden house
A lonely river
Dead seasons
Dreams that still breathe

She, alone, fighting
Defying the passage of time
Still lingering
Where he left her

Everyday its same
Mirror screams the truth
Of wrinkles and lost youth
She...never accepts

With each dawn
Wakes up a new hope
With each dusk
It silently dies

Her sole reason to live
Are those letters of his
Which she kisses a million times
Untill they are wet with tears

Her soul worships
Those crumbled yellow sheets
The last one reads
'For you I will be back'.

Her wait still waits...

A beautifully written poem, and has the imagery to go there as well. A girl with only his letters keeping her sane, waiting for his return. Sad story told well, thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

combining prompts is more than okay & i'm glad you've been inspired by multiple. the poem you've submitted suits all three, so bravo/a.
i like how it starts out, and sets a scene and then it weaves and tells a sad story about somebody desperately hoping for hope.

    the line "With each dusk
It silently dies" was my favorite

    thanks so much for entering
    hope you enjoyed participating
and best of luck in the contest!
