i am. i am not.
an illusory perception
in the crystal-clear depths
of a shallow puddle
a look
into another reality
or the only reality
and i am the reflection
seen by the passerby
of what is not
this visual hole in space
keeps me in this imaginary prison
with cold concrete
plugging the abstract opening
until Time can stitch itself together
and the puddle dries
leaving no remnants of hope
no compensation for this torture
in this cruel world
Author notes
The parallel reality - puddle dilemma.

Dark. But I like that, so it makes this an interesting read.
The constant allusion to the rain and the puddle I love. It offers a distinct understanding to the feeling linked with the narrator's perception. The reality of the cruel world almost seems to overpower the sense of self, and it is that which wars within the individual.
A very nice write.
Thank you for entering!

this was quite an interesting piece. woven deligately with a profound thought in mind. good work, and good luck in the contest.
