Dawn’s luminescence
paints the room with
golden pallet.
The tenuous light sculpts
a sleeping form in gilt
and obsidian.
I watch as you lie there
and the light coalesces
in sparkling highlights.
Reaching up, I find
aqueous joy prisming
my eyes…
…and I am changed.
