I find myself sipping patience
Every single day
It's all I can do
Without just leaving the fray
He keeps on hurting her
And I have no idea what to do
I wish things with them would just be over
I wish their relationship was through
Her tears stain her dress
And I can see her newest scar
I've hoped and prayed there was something I could do
Than just sit here, afar
But I heard he has left
And she isn't hearbroken
I'm so happy
That she's safe, my friend, my token

i LOVE the idea behind this, of 'sipping patience' - brilliant.
But, thought the last line was too forced 'token' seems so much less than what your friend is to you.
thanks for entering. -
Awww, this is very sweet, I can sense the concern and thoughtfulness
Fits the description nicely

Excellent
A very fine write on a sensitive topic. Imagery; rhythm and rhyme are just fine. Thanks for sharing this one. -

Sad but a powerful write. Creating beauty amidst the ugliness is a true gift... well done and best of luck.
