The Demise

Many knots travelled through stormy seas

Finding  haven midst seasons of gales,

Even while reefs and shoals did find,

She found safe anchor and many a sail!

But oh the schooner of knots in a trip

Though having weathered years of storms

The beautiful craft "Enduring Forever"

Is dashed  upon rocks, finished, forlorn!

Author notes

"So many a ship leaves port on a new journey in life....some make it and retire as ships on the sea of life....some become shipwrecks unfortunately..The ship of course is a metaphor on marriage....some last, and some do not..."on the rocks"

a good poem, these days i think marriage does not last as say one hundred years ago or for some even less than that time, many today are divorced or separated after just a few short years whereas i remember as a kid most people lasted a lot longer. maybe it is just the times and later it will revert back to how it used to be.

Good work! this short paints quite a picture for just a few words! I love the ship's name and I was a bit sad when it was dashed against the shore.

The only thing I didn't like, other than the pink against blue that made my eyes strain was the constant use of 'so many.' Other than that, I loved this poem. It was a great metaphor, and that the alliteration in the end was well done. The word choice was almost perfect, and the ideas it carried with it were well chosen. Overall, a very wonderful piece. Great job.
