Silver Linings

Where she pooled, she became absorbed in
a granite napkinship of her own wet prodigy -
filled with her fabled soul,
her deliberate amalgamation,
her clairvoyant disturbancy -
she was everything she needed him to be.

when the last enrapturing with him came,
he loosened his boots in her parlor -
licked the silver lining
off her extreme mysticism -
mixing terse mercinary advance
with gallactic assembly,
where everyone is far more beautiful
than the hand-chosen few who believe
in their own domestic domination.

go ahead -
institutionalize us...
...we dare you.

Never fall in love with a dreamer if you are prone to control issues... trying to clip ones wings can only end with a solo, "ya should have seen that one coming..." Or should I have said going...???

The words napkinship, amalgamation and terse to name a few, stop the flow of the poem, making the reader think about what your saying. Good literary device.

pass the broken joint, throw the foreign quarters into a fountain, make three grandiose wishes, burn the lint, wipe clean the agate, swallow the rosary bead, and while you are at it...explain the poem to me. i'm here...just turn on the light. Love, Lane

always with the explanation, Lane Smith. i'll grant your request if you follow your own creative mind into your own explanation of what the poem might mean to you. flickin' the switch and watching the ceiling fan burn... ~ EZB

This is fullllll of wonderful words and images and ideas. I think I've said it before, maybe more than once, but I love how you challenge the mind. Love the idea of pooling and deliberate amalgamation. There is a notion in here, I think, of the preservation of self, despite the domestic domination and the institutionalization. I find this maybe even a little sad in its truth but damn effective
