My True Love's Gifts

You have heard it before, I'm sure
It's just something we've learned to endure
Year after year, when we hear it clear,
We all know that Christmas is near.

So here at last is my cursing gift
That may or may not give you a lift
Please feel free to sing along
To my very own Twelve Days of Christmas song:

"After twelve days,
My true love lost it.
If sanity had a boundry,
I was sure he had crossed it.

Those drummers drumming were louder than boys,
And the pipers piping just added to the noise.
The lords a-leaping made marks on the walls,
And the ladies dancing caused a great many of falls.

The maids a-milking made a-mess,
And the swans a-swimming were awful guests.
Those geese a-laying seemed to linger,
And each golden ring fit five of my fingers.

Those calling birds wouldn't be quiet,
And as for the French Hens Gift Set? He thankfully forgot to buy it.
The turtle doves were as silly as could be,
But nothing was worse than that partridge in the pear tree.

Most people wonder, 'What was he thinking?!
Buying you those things; his mind must be shrinking.'
Even though my true love's gifts are strange, its true,
We have much tolerance and love. (As does our local zoo.)"

    Awe, that made me giggle! I like that I"m going to have to learn that song. It's made my morning as I'm up at nearly 7 A.M. For no reason at all. I do wish you the best of luck in this contest.
