Half-full or half-empty
the argument goes,
Whatever the answer,
your attitude shows.
Another conclusion
that most do not see,
is a glass twice as big
as it really needs be.

is a glass twice as big

Author notes
My shot at mixing physics and poetry, possibilities and prose,
probablity and pen... Actually, this is the former Accountant
in me, looking at ways to increase profitablility... by looking,
"outside of the box" er.., glass in this particular case.

I'm laughing at your comment...
because it is very rare, that I make my husband listen to a poem from one of my contests...lol..I read this to him right away...Now, I haven't read them all, and I don't think I "know" you...but, I write short also...and if you knew just how much this hit home...well, enough cliche
thanks for entering!
Best wishes in the contest and always!
Write on!

Very nicely metered and rhymed. Excellent "whatever the answer, your attitude shows."
I had not considered the second idea presented, perhaps a commentary on our growing national waistline, or the willfulness of pessimism...as any volume can be represented as less than hoped for by simply putting it in a larger container?

yes
things to ponder, my mind seems to never stop,,, my wife could attest to that - Kevin

You said it all in two short stanzas. What our perspective is on things, does truly show our attitudes. I myself have always loved, "is the glass half-full or half-empty?" It shows if we are optimistic or pessimistic in our attitudes towards life. Your second stanza tells us there are more ways to look at things whether than in just black and white. I guess all we need do is shoot for the stars and our glass will always be "half-full." Thank you for this sharing these wonderful thoughts with us all. Your friend in Poetry, Mysty Rain

really?
oh, this one was just for fun... my wife doesn't like this one because she is very visual and didn't get it... so I posted it to see if anyone would... especially the one running the cntest who said she was into physics and logic... we'll see. Not my best work, but hey, you gotta through stuff like this in sometimes. Thanks for being my most prudent reader... "prudent" - did I really say that?... and I'm supposed to be a writer... goodness. You take care my friend, remember, you have been prayed for - Kevin
