Calm Seas & Tsunamis - quadruple haiku/senyru

Calm Seas & Tsunamis
Quadruple haiku/senyru
©copyright 2008 Bonita M Quesinberry

Wisdom crystal clear
like calm seas 'til her rage storms
Earth's tsunamis drown

White as driven snow
like a dove 'til her rage storms
Earth's avalanche hides

Blue skies and white clouds
fresh breezes 'til her winds rage
Earth's hurricanes kill

Earth's type calm then wild
as mankind 'til his rage storms
spirits mean or kind

* * *

As a haiku speaks of nature, so also a senyru
speaks of humans; thus, a haiku/senyru
reveals the link between man and nature

Author notes

the inter-connectedness of life on Earth; the fragile nature of balance (on earth or a more universal level)

absolutly wonderful! I wrote my first Tanka yesterday and enjoyed it so much that I thought to check out your Haiku/senru. Amazing how writing a style(Tanka) helps one to understand related forms such as yours here. LOved the relationships, the balances of men and nature found in their extremes. Thanks for the poetry...peace

    I also

enjoyed this one. The idea of linking poetry form and content the way you did is great. When time is at hand, I will be visiting your page a little bit more and longer. Be blessed. Frans
