There is dignity

in this humanity

unlike I was told

so long ago.

 

 

They kept saying

we were evil,

a mirror to the wickedness

that filled us.

 

 

But there is no shame

in being humane

and believing in us all.

 

 

We are breaking

sometimes bleeding

never thinking

of inevitable death.

 

 

As I'm seeking

I'm releasing

myself from a past

 

 

full of pain, fear

and lies

they fed my brain.

 

 

Now that I know

does it show

that I am finally

 

 

free.

    Yes.

    When we outgrow
    the opinion of those
    who did not know
    who we are and chose
    with cruel words
    to destroy, we close
    access to discord.

    We metamorphose
    as you have done,
    Indeed yes!
    Emerge from darkness
    into Sun!
