My muse went wandering and when she came back
This was what she said..
She had heard the angels talking
Of a little boy Shannon,
his mom writes poems and my muse knew so much.
The angels were holding in their hands,
a bag, a letter and a pen.
They talked in whispers,
It was music to the ears;
They talked of things that happened
and those yet to come..
This little boy is a blessed child, said one
While the other kept writing with her golden pen.
My muse took a peep at the bag she held so safe..
She could not see them all but a few,
There were candies, in colors green and blue
And a little red scarf too..
A tiny notebook and a toy of some kind too..
She peeped in the letter
She could not read them all..
But for a few lines
A few words, here and there
glimpses from what she read..
"promises.. Shannon.. new year..
..2009.. flowers.. happiness.. sunshine..
Prayers.. God.. smiles.. cheer.. joy..
hope.. grand.. wonder.. laughter.."
Thus went the words, the angel held in her hands,
And turned to the next page
to read about the little girl in the next town..
Thus said my muse..
And I knew I must write here
For I knew the mom of the little boy
Was sure to show him this..
Had he faith in the Mighty
He is sure to believe this promise,
and be as happy as ever
For that is the angel's plan for him..

Very beautiful
My son almost cried as I read him this. The little tears formed around his eyes. May God bless you and we thank you so much for the poem. Good luck!
