I’ve never seen the sea before, but they tell me it’s bluer than the sky,
more teal than my sister’s favorite crayon,
more violet than mountain majesties,
more gray than all the storms we've rode out.
My mom tells me it's pink.
She says, Dad and she met there and the sunset was pink on the waves,
and all the bubblegum and blushes my mom brandished
were in tone with the love.
I make a face and say "Ew," but I'm glad.
My mom tells me the sea is pink -
and I believe her.

I really dig the personal references to this piece. They command your attention and you cannot help but to place yourself there. Excellent job.

That's beautiful. Hopeful, sweet. Serene.
>> The ocean is colourless, and at the same time, all colours combined. She is white at the foam and builds in colours from there. I find it amazing that some people have not seen the ocean. o.O (Not that I'm at all means trying to degrade you.)

welcome to allpoetry
This made me smile. I usually do like poetry of the sea and nature in general. You have put together a beautiful image and story. I will think of this the next time I visit the beach and think of the sea as nothing but pink. A pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing.
Enjoy the site.
