Remember

Remember when we were children,
young and bright.
Remember when we lived,
without such fear, such fright.

Remember the day we left for school,
all packed up and ready.
Remember the day that momma cried,
when we put down the teddy.

Remember the day when we met that kid,
that sat across the room.
Remember the day they turned us down,
and we thought we’d never bloom.

Remember the day of our high school dance,
the music, the date, the fun.
Remember the day we nearly broke our hearts,
but the pain had just begun.

Remember the day we took a deep breath,
and knew it be okay.
Remember the day we learned to laugh,
for the sake of looking away.

Remember the day we thought we’d never sit here,
two years left until were gone.
Off to a place called college,
for school or for fun.

Remember the day we imagined,
just what this would be like.
As we daydreamed during math class,
just a little tyke.

Remember who you were, and who you wanted to be,
then look into the future,
and tell yourself just what you see.

Remember.

This reads well except for a couple of missing words you might want to change. Nice job. Thanks for entering the contest. Shancy.
