Sun hides behind arms;
icy fingers and frozen palms
of sundogs’ tack to a waiting time
faithful as smoke rising vertically
from chimney’s dimpling
heavy sky traveling southwest
in loping winter gallop
pearlized clouds part
in mauve appreciation
beneath a slate-gray
warning of northern pounce
flat prairie sky, stippled
with slow waft of winter sparrows
pulling sunrise or sunset
up under their wings
as coverlet drawn
for its season’s rest
a cold wind bays
like dying hounds

ty, winter is not my favorite.

i loved the images/words in this (ex: loping winter gallop, pulling a sunset or sunrise up under their wings) & the mention of birds, hounds and other animals. it made it almost enchanting and detached at the same time. if that makes sense.
basically, i thought it was just super.

ty for your kind comment...I do tend to be an imagist and to write off the far edge.
