Ebony intrigue
in ravishing radiance
drifts as though on air;
immaculate impartiality
draping an elegant hand
over his: gnarled, stubby;
bejewelled narcissism
manicured to perfection,
expensive ego-ecstacy.
Opulence easily
outclassing his ostentation,
purgatorial paucity of pedigree;
...Do they call that love?

Hmm... I wish this one was a picture prompt. I'm having a hard time seeing what you're seeing! That's what I find to be the problem with these 30-40 word challenges... usually that's just enough for a first verse! Three clappies nonetheless for a beautiful poem.

Wow! I see as I continue this journey into you that you have so many different sides. That's unusual in this web place. You can write in so many different venues. This was excellent as well and I can't believe you didn't take gold for the effort. I cannot take time right now to read the gold winner, but it must have been a doosey? RC

You've captured the essence egoism and all the trappings in this piece. Beautifully written!
