Rescue Me!

Outside the thresh hold I'm looking in,
I hear his voice calling out to me.
Offering life in his paradise,
  safe in his kingdom eternally

I Stretch out my weak and withered hand
barren and empty, my heart aches so
please take me in, for I'm dying here,
I am so lost, with no where to go

Lord can you hear now my desperate plea
here is my heart, come and dwell in me
open the door,  take me in dear God,
all I desire is your  charity.

Such a simple and beautiful prayer. This touched me deeply (and I don't say that lightly). I think we all are lost at one point or another, so we can feel and appreciate this longing. The rhyme makes it more melodic.
    Lovely.

    Moving

This moved me so very deeply. I love the deepness of your poem and the heart crying out in the knowledge of the condition of separation from sin from the heart of God.
He is so gracious and loving to take us all in......and more then that to offer himself up on the cross in order to rescue us! This poem pointed that out so well for me and created a stirring in my heart of deep gratitude and love for God.
Thank you for writing it and sharing it.
It was truly humble and contrite, which I know is what is so precious to our God, he will never despise......
    Love in Christ Jesus,
    Annette
