Prosperity's Death

Born free taxed to death
Financial slavery...
takes away my breath.

The end of prosperity
my ruinous descent
death of middle class
I sadly lament.

Serfdom and fiefdom
at last will arrive.
No stomach, to do
what I need to survive.

The middle and last stanzas were amazing! And the first wasn't cause I noticed a little trend going on that I already praised you for. Great write though! Thanks for entering! Good luck!

    Bravo!

This pretty much sums up the times we're in and this is very identifiable for all! We will get through this as did our forefathers, but it's not going to be easy! Love that last stanza! We already don't "own" our country anymore. We're the biggest debtor nation in the world. The borrower is servant to the lender as the saying goes. I'm sure this will do well in the Contest!
