Come with me and hold my hand,
turn your back to the wind.
Let’s climb together.
I will show you the place
where on your open palm you can hold
the whole of landscape and skies,
where the waterfall traps the rainbow
mimicking the secret of your eyes.
They wait for us.
Here, where wood dresses to cupreous lace,
where each sun ray is a promise,
I feel so wild, happy and free.
Spread the soft moss in the cave of dragons,
turn on the candles, I want to see you,
to smell the scents of you like a tame animal,
lay me down, touch me, kiss me,
undress me as autumn undresses flowers,
and cover me with your skin.
After the crash and fire of our touches
old quartz cracks blushing in shame
for its poor sparklets.
Listen to the echoing ancient song
of high blue mountains, from the place
where thunderbolt found a ward
and under our feet stones heavily groan.
They hail us as we are the lost gods
finally back home.

a very beautiful love story...great use of imagery to create an overall feeling of love and inspiration. Well done.

what poetry is all about, is just this.
with the freedom to choose the word, to glorify life, to fall victim to the machinations of the senses and to be your own animal and god loving with the savagery of burning silk. “undress me as autumn undresses flowers” – sublime.

Outstanding
This is such a beautiful poem full of rich imagery and so poetic in tone. I loved your choice of language and the flow of this poem. You write love exactly as it should be written with a sense of passion and romance and exceptional imagery. Best of luck in the contest.

Beautiful
No one writes of love like you do, taking us to hidden places where trees whisper and mountains roar. The sensuality is tender, with nature in admiration. This is a wonderful poem, I love the imagery of mountain and dragon's cave.

Awesome work!
"where on your open palm you can hold

mimicking the secret of your eyes."
Exquisit Imagery of love! and dang, there are some metaphors in this I wish I'd written, Stunning indeed my friend
I'm with Wanda...The host must not know many real poets on this site. I count myself fortunate to know a great many
and many blessings!
love, Sandi

The title of the contest confuses me; obviously, the judge doesn't know the writers I know of on AP. This is more than good, it is stunning.
