A Christmas in New Zealand
N ever goes completely as it's planned.
E veryone gathers round the table
W e seat as many as we are able.
Z eal shown as some take first bites,
E ating the food with merry delight.
A s cousins play with the wreath,
L aughter rattles Grandma's teeth.
A s kids get restless for their gifts,
N ana's to the rescue, taking shifts.
D arling children reach up with glee.
C andy canes hang off the pohutakawa tree.
H ot sun beats down all day,
R eally different in the USA.
I love to have a New Zealand Christmas,
S un always seems to make the day bliss.
T ime seems to run out fast,
M y family reunion time has past.
A lways the time of year is grand.
S ummertime in New Zealand.

Amazing eh? To have a Christmas in the summer. That must be very special. I have never experienced that. You made a nice acrostic about this and I could feel the atmosphere so well... well done.
Happy New Year!
Anna.

This is a gorgeous Christmas acrostic
I like the easy rhythm and rhyme that you have here, and the story that this tells is wonderful
similar to my Christmases in Australia.
Merry Christmas!
Polly

Very lovely. It makes me feel like I'm really there, what a cherishable memory.

This is so much better than most acrostics I read, you have a great deal of talent in this form, in my opinion.
