”Now I lay me down to sleep”
“And as your queen I’ll surely reap”
Of the fairies in the forest,
she is not the usual breed
Hunting either man or beast,
whichever suits her needs
An evil spawn of days gone by,
wicked to the bone
Satisfied with nothing yet,
she strives to bear the throne
Laying heed to what she claims,
will give you passage fair
But dare not look her in the eye,
lest you come prepared
A marksmen and a banshee,
she will lure you to your death
Stalking through the day and night,
tracking by your breath
Feared by all the darkest types,
most trophies on her wall
The ground it shakes with an urgency,
when she gives her battle call
Even those who sit in power,
are weary of her evil views
For her to overthrow just one,
would be horrific news
Almost as if she lives a dream,
she does just as she please
One day the forest and its life,
will bow down on their knees

I think ergency should be urgency
A very neat piece, tightly penned, with an interesting tale. Thanks for entering and good luck

Your imagery here is magnificent. I think the pic used goes well with the prompt that was given too.

Woah this is crazy good. The meter gets off a bit, but nothing too drastic. I really like this. It keeps your attention. It's really good and captivating. Excellent imagery. Overall great write!
