I don't imagine what it could see
Its eyes of light in a dark cavern
She said:- "You are unknown to me"
I said "I am unknown to all"
We were at an impasse
She said "Then you are unknown to yourself?"
I declined to reply
For I did not exist except in the mind
Of whoever smiled at the coming dawn
Or believed in a sacrifice
