Poem - The content of my boxes

I could try to climb a non reachable hill,
or find closer to home, a small wish box to fill.
My gifts are spread over boxes all twelf,
because each month, I want to remind myself.

Content of my boxes:

Keeping a promise that I've made today,
to look up an old lady, they've put her away.
She can't take care of herself anymore.
Yes, soon I'll knock on her nursing home door.

Some contain money, of different range,
by far not enough for the stock-exchange.
It's for the collectings of any kind,
small amounts make fortunes, when combined.

They're all filled with cat food and you wonder why?
Well, we're feeding three cats in a house nearby.
We pet them and hug them, my daughter's abroad,
not needing to renounce them, was a comforting thought.

In all you find friendship with people we know,
it takes a long time for true friendship to grow.
It needs to be cared for in a two way stream,
because one way friendship is a fancy dream.

In most you find Poets, I met on my screen,
a bunch of nice people, whom I've never seen.
Sometimes they're lonely or in grieve of some kind,
then I'll try to comfort and sooth their mind.

Photographers are roaming my boxes too,
I share love for nature with more than a few.
I meet them on internet or in the flesh,
discussions will make our minds refresh.

There's seed in my boxes for birds in all winters,
some birds are hoppers, some are sprinters.
Hay for my sheep, who will lamb in spring,
most joyable entertainment all will bring.

And....

You'll find in my boxes some empty spaces,
which I left open for unexpected cases.
There'll always be someone in need of love,
if not from me, than from the spirits above.
