Now that you've ripped all the paper,
and tugged open all of the bows,
another gift have I for you,
the sweetest friend I hold so close.
One that's encased deep within me
and kept from the world in a cage,
because it's seen all that you've seen;
your pain, and your fear, and your rage
Yours since the first that I saw you,
battered, bewildered and broken.
Yours though I know that it's not much,
no, naught but a meager token.
My heart's what I give you this day,
and pray that it helps you to mend,
And carries you through to the day
when more loving words you will pen.
Author notes
I'm sorry.
I can NOT get this anywhere near 50 words.
I'm really sorry.

If you were here right now, I'd jump at you and not regret it.
If you were here right now, you'd see the tears pouring from my eyes.
Dont be sorry.
please.
I am honored and I feel a little silly trying to express exactly what Im feeling.
Just please know I am so glad you're my friend, and that you took the time and effort to bring me comfort in my time of sorrow and pain.
I hope you'll always be my friend.
Love,
jin

I'll not be sorry, that I promise. I'll instead take the joy I find in your gladness, mix it with a bit of vintage, and toast your return. Welcome back, my dear Jin.
