  • i'm enjoying a moment of christmas cheer in May! now if only i could work up the energy to take down my last christmas tree...

  • I'm really liking the way you're layering the parts...I really like the contrabass part. I like hearing the melodies peeping through.

Oh...just got to the finale...as indicated by my awesome chord changes, haha! I like the way it was drawn out!

I really like that you included my original score this time as a point of comparison for anyone that wanders by. You should have used the GPO file though...this is the Finale one...it sounds very different.

the GPO version- I could even bill it as being performed by a live orchestra... yes... (though I'd reveal the true source in the author's notes...!)

      • Maybe after a few years of ass kissing my director will let the orchestra play it and then we can actually have a live track!

Well, that might be a good idea for all the pieces, just for intellectual curiosity! (including your original versions) The GPO version of Pollyanna? Hmmm... you know I like the Finale version... lol but yes, might as well make it a complete collection here!

Haha, I like reading other people's comments. Hmm, well besides my fiddle, there's my old wooden Irish flute and my tin whistle from Dublin...so maybe I'm more traditionally trained except for my classical violin and viola, haha. Celtic Thunder is kind of like a male Celtic Woman. They're very good but I personally perfer the ladies...just got their CD this morning in fact and saw them last year...fiddle player is amazing! Anyway, I like this modification to my song better...of course I'm always going to like my original better! Haha! Merry Christmas.

    Merry Christmas!

I went to a concert several weeks back: a group from Ireland called Celtic Thunder. I was highly impressed with them. Particularly a guy named Keith Harkin, who sang a song called "The Island". Incroyable.

I bought the dvd, and watched it again last night. (The whole concert - the song I wanted wasn't on the cd.)

Anyway, Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

      and a Happy New Year

thanks for the suggestion, I'll head straight for Youtube lol- it's become the new world encyclopedia... I'm only 1/8 Irish, but my young Irish collaborator might know of them... though she's more classically oriented... except for her fiddle...!
