Healing Rose

Roses are red,
Or white, or blue.
Some days have their thorns,
But others have you.

Roses can hurt,
But also can heal.
There is beauty in pain,
And to grieve is to feel.

Roses give life,
To a room that is stark.
It's soft coated hue,
Is a light in the dark.

Author notes

Rather cryptic, I suppose. Just remember that all days have their ups and downs, but keep looking for that special beauty, a person or just something you see, that will make your day feel so much brighter.

Sorry to break the spirit of 'roses are red', but let me just say that this is the best poem I have read all day! It flows absolutely wondorously, it is gentle and, like you said, it is cryptic, but I love that. I think the title should've been something that lived up to the poem, but it is hard to get something special with just a few words. Amazing work.

      Roses are red,
      You seem quite obsessed.

      Making rhymes about flowers,
Must be what you do best.

      Thank you =]
