Lying still in your arms, listening to our hearts beating
Being quiet in the miracle of another dawn, another day
Another gift from God
Beauty like looking into your warm eyes and finding there
Love, the universe, my universe, just you.
Beautiful, it was, being able to call you up at God-knows-when
Just to hear your gravelly sleepy voice,
And you'd forgive me of it easily, a simple pardon.
Beauty it was, pure beauty, that the first song to leave your lips
Be a love song, even after you said the words long before;
You'd recited some to music and set this tiny orbiting satellite spinning,
Heart racing rapidly within my breast,
And you let it, let me chase after yours, giving it to me as I gave mine to you.
My universe has changed, my 'everything' questioned.
My little cosmos ran akilter without you
But in my dreams I see you again, every once in a while,
And even now, years later, you are as beautiful as ever,
My Sun, my Star.
You were my love, my everything,
The carbon of my being, my universe
And now you are my love, my beauty, viewed from afar,
But never less radiant than up close.

Hey, this is really beautiful... You make me smile with your dreamy descriptions of your old love..

I love this last line especially:
"And now you are my love, my beauty, viewed from afar, /But never less radiant than up close."
Lovely!
