Thank you for your thoughtful comments...

Here are my thoughts on your thoughts: Natsume Soseki is considered the Charles Dickens of Japan. He also caps his first line, as does the famous Basho Matsuo, who is known as the first great poet of Haiku. I like his style; Basho said, "Learn the rules in poetry, then forget them." Please check out these famous Haiku poems by the masters, below:

      Over the wintry

      forest, winds howl in rage

      with no leaves to blow.

      ~

      by Soseki (1275-1351)

      An old silent pond...

A frog jumps into the pond,

      splash! Silence again.

      ~
      by Basho (1644-1694)

Thanks again, I enjoyed your "ku" contest. Take care.

Cyn, for some unknown reason I didnt expect this piece to have the affect it just did. For a moment I caught my breath, I was taken aback.

A very thoughtful piece you've written here. Thoughts of mortality are something that we all experience at some point in time. Best of luck to you.

Cyn! Wow. I really loved this. Beautiful imagery and word choice. I really like it, mainly because well, I can-not write Haikus! Haha. I suck at them! You did an excellent job. All the best to you in the contest.

    Much love

      Thank you for the kudos!!!

Thank you for your thoughtful comments as well... I cannot imagine your really not being able to write a haiku... I really think your mind is too highly developed and intellectually creative to be bothered by such a small thing as a haiku...
