silver sun.

i heard you throught the cracks it the door as i drew pictures of rainbows and your eyes with only one color. it wouldn't work, i always gave in and we went right back to laying on the floor, cavities, and carpet burns. you bought me plastic fairy wands and cheap purfume. you painted me naked, on leather couches and wool blankets.

i said i loved you, it was half true. because i loved you on mondays and when it was cold outside. because you believed in happily ever after and your favorite color was green.

you bought me a rose, the petals were smushed but it was the most beautiful thing i'd ever gotten, it whithered by the end of the day-- i still smell roses when i dream about you.

it wouldn't work, you saw right through me and you still thought i was beautiful. i lied and cheated and broke your heart. i knew you'd miss me.
i didn't know that i'd miss you too.

(mondays are lonely and its cold outside.)
