Remembering You

I remember the way
you'd smile at me
put on the groovy music
and ask me to dance

I remember the time
you said goodbye
I stayed inside
not daring to leave
to face my mourning heart

but then you came back
nothing else mattered
we were together
laughing
talking

I remember the painting
the one from the flea market
a big smiling pineappple
I still have it
on my window sil

I stare over the horizon
sometimes
wish that tommorrow
you were coming home
again

but no
it can't happen
the letter came

"Dear Ms. Lei
Leo Furth
Has passed away
In the misfotunate event
Of a plane crash."

I remember the tears blurring
all I see are the empty spaces
between words

but
I'm still
remembering you
