So soft and supple now I can feel the rain.
It sprays my face an easy mist,
and
my lips, parted, are tasted and kissed.
My fingers brush dear nimble sweetness
that as like water brings with it completeness.
My eyes shown shut taste the air,
lovely,
as is the sun's close warming flare.
My senses move with such a graceful ease.
So far below resides the churning green seas.
These aromas red that flood my mind;
sweet
perfume enlightened by the blind.
The soft winds creates around my face,
it's lullabies vanishing without even a trace.
Eyes open wide see nothing here,
alas,
I sense a heaven growing near.
Living is made easy with eyes that lie closed,
the truth is hidden when sight's exposed.
Land approaching smells as sweet.
Strawberries
lined along the iridescent street.
Author notes
STRAWBERRY FIELDS (15)
"Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see."
this song is complex and so is my poem. It brings together many different ideas and strings them all into one. Just about everything about it has been done on purpose. I was hoping to create a moving yet broken up type of poem, making it seam more as a truth then as a poetic piece.
Dedicated to John Lennon for writing such a moving piece of musical and poetic genius.
