The dance of two

http://www.viningsgallery.com/_images/featured-artists/fabian-perez/lg/tango-ii.jpg

The dance of two in wild ecstasy ,

Moving like silk in a stormy wind,

None could part the two lovers.

They where like two stars shining,

All but alone on the dance floor,

In the wild madness of passion.

All of those compared faded,

For they never grew tired,

Moving as there was no end.

                  ~

Alone he now stands waiting,

For his partner has at last parted,

No promise to rejoin the dance.

Now in a solo of hurt and pain,

His steps of sorrow and tears,

Will never be as once before.

           ...The dance of two, ended

  • A very nicely written piece that shows the passion to be found in the ballroom, perhaps a slight edit on this line "No promise of rejoin the dance" replacing "of" with "to". Congrats on the deserved trophys.

I always love to see lovers dancing the Tango and your rendition of the dance of love (and heartbreak) in this poem is one to dazzle the reader. It's almost as if the reader is a part of the dance, a part of the heartbreak. The picture and the poem compliment each other perfectly.

Very good, and I wish you good luck in the contest

This is an amazing piece. It got my attention from start to finish. Well penned.

  • This is now my favorite poem of yours. I love how in the beginning it was a dance of two, and in the end it was a solo. love & life that's how it is. sometimes we are lucky and we fall in love, we share life with another, then there are those moments when we are solo once again. yes it causes us pain, but this reminds of the song by Garth Brooks, The Dance. I think this is a beautiful poem, imagery is outstanding and vivid and it tugged on my heart

Congratulations on the Gold Trophy, it was well deserved

    I love you
