Grave Digger

It's been two weeks of living a lie
Your only friend is a bad alibi
I cared for you once
And forgave you twice
Get ready to kiss your life goodbye

When you lay your head to bed at night
I hope the guilt eats you alive
Devours your soul, if you have one at all
Leaving you hollow and ready to fall

*When I held out my hand you twisted my wrist
You set yourself up for the fall
One honest talk and you could have been saved
But it's too late, you've dug your own grave*

What will you do when you're faced with the truth?
When everyone finally knows it was you?
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
You could still have it all if you hadn't lied

    Betrayed!

This is an awesome poem you've written here. The rawness and the severity and his loss all shine bright and vividly. I think that in this line:
"But it's too late, you've dug your own grave"
that you should think about putting the word baby after the word late. Read it like that and see what you think. I just think it would lend to a better flow. Awesome writing here!

thanks so much for reading my work! i favorited you as well and look forward to reading your work! the funny thing about this poem/song is that it's actually not about a guy, it's about a former best friend. so "baby" would be kinda weird haha. thanks for the suggestion tho! merry christmas =)
