The Bodies I Claim

My cause was just
But so was anyone's
and monstrosity, corruption
erupt from the slightest
provocation

It was for you
always
everything
was for you

Just know this, please

I've killed more than a few
Leaving rivers of blood and tears
my own included
But I can't stop
Just one more night
and I'll see you again
There's another knife in my hands....

Every time, it hurts me
just a little less
The red-stained clothes get to me
just a little less
I am so close
To being with you

And please, forgive me, for what I've done
everything
always
was for you

Author notes

inspired by "I Never Told You What I Do for a Living", by My Chemical Romance. I chose this prompt because the music MCR creates is very powerful, and it holds a lot of meaning for me.
The story of the album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in short, is that two lovers became caught in a gunfight, and the man was killed. He reaches Hell, and simply cannot stand being seperated from his beloved, so makes a deal with the devil. If he kills and sends to Hell the souls of a thousand evil men, he can return to the living and be with her. This song is torward the album's end, and he is nearly done with this task.
