Alcohol
My only friend
My companion
My whole family
My lifetime love
How I’ve come
To need you so.
Restoring my calm
Your warmth spreads
Through my body and soul
Comforting tense muscles
Makes thoughts slow down
The way I say what needs
To be said even if it hurts
Making it so I feel nothing
Losing all my inhibitions
Your arms slide around me
Like the caress of a lover
I know I can never return
Seeing clearly the first time
Losing my grip on reality
Where can I turn for help?
Only to you can I return
