Heart As a Net

I think my heart skipped a beat;
Seeing you there, where I once was.
Raindrops and pearls indistinguishable in your hair.
More words than sense came alive in my mouth
And I barely survived.

Your eyes were a colour I had never known,
And your voice moved through verses unwritten.
Tears falling without any dignity,
And in all the confusion I forgot who was you or me.

Delievered now I am.
But I can’t sleep my nights alone,
Your vision has to pull me in when it’s dark,
With your heart just like a net.
Now I can’t sleep on my own anymore.

Delivered now, aren’t you?
Well, something was bound to give.
With eyes like coloured glass and a heart like a net,
You caught all the attention I ever had.
Well, good for you, I had to learn

And now I know
Now I know I will never be the same,
Now I know I will always hear you name,
Whenever my heart reins me in.
Is that a good or a bad thing?

Author notes

Once again, these are meant to be lyrics, so forgive some bizarre rhythms (they make sense to me.
