Fifteen Miles

(GUY)
We thought that this could work
All the miles meaning nothing
Although everyone told us
More than Miles would seperate our hearts

(GIRL)
And dreams became nightmares
As i look into the eyes
Of the one I swore I'd never give my love to
And the distance
is pulling us apart

(BOTH)
And my head says
this can't ever work

(CHORUS)
[harmonize] we're fifteen miles past a broken heart
and my soul is running on empty
I never knew we'd take this detour
[guy] so far away
[girl] so far away
[both] from our perfect love

VERSE 2

(GIRL)
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder
But cliches never come true
Your gravity grows weaker
when i stray farther from you

(GUY)
Can't seem to find the exit
The Way off this ride
just find a Way to fill this Void, inside

CHORUS

(GUY)
Stop and go

(GIRL)
Stop and go

(GUY)
You signal right, but Turn to the left

(GIRL)
And our paths are diverging
with every word we say

(BOTH)
It's time we go our own way

CHORUS [slightly changed/dragged out]
[harmonize] we're fifteen miles past a broken heart
and my soul is running on empty
I never knew we'd take this detour
[guy] so far away
[girl] so far away
[guy] so far away
[girl] so far away
[both] so far away
[both] from our perfect love

Author notes

So my friend Gabe and I were watching High School Muscial 2 and we decided that to make fun of the fact that they just sing rather than speak to break up, that we would write a mock breakup song. I plan to perform this with a female friend at an extremely public venue just for the heck of it and to give a crowd of people a "What just happened?" sort of moment.

Rather clever...though I didn't picture it being something along the lines of High School Musical as I read it. Though it would be hilarious to see this go down randomly somewhere public.

If only more stuff like that would happen...
