No one knew
What in her bosom grew
We thought everything was fine
She was so gracious and kind
Then one day
A teacher stopped to say
Please pray for her
The surgery she did refer
We didn't know what was going on
Til that very day without the sun
She had cancer growing inside
Like a swelling tide
Now the doctors were going to cut out
We all hope gets it out
But the cancer grew further than expected
So she must go for a second
This time they think it out
Now she is recovering, the cancer out
What in her bosom grew
We thought everything was fine
She was so gracious and kind
Then one day
A teacher stopped to say
Please pray for her
The surgery she did refer
We didn't know what was going on
Til that very day without the sun
She had cancer growing inside
Like a swelling tide
Now the doctors were going to cut out
We all hope gets it out
But the cancer grew further than expected
So she must go for a second
This time they think it out
Now she is recovering, the cancer out
Author notes
An administrator at my school one day suddenly went into surgery. None of usknew why at first but then we were told she had breast cancer and had actually been suffering from it for a while. We all love hher so much. So this is for her.

It must have been scary not knowing what was going on. People don't always tell us things and that makes us freak out more than knowing. This was a great write. *clap* *clap* *clap*

this was a lovely poem you wrote for her; i am glad to read that she's out of hospital now and in recovery -
cancer must be such a scary time for everyone who is involved, even people you like and admire from afar,
i wonder have you shown this to her?
thanks for entering

Ah, such a powerful theme. Countless people have suffered from cancer. This is a lovely dedication to one of those wonderful people. It's good to hear that she is recovering. Well done.
