and that mighty redwood stood tall
until you broke my heart
then it pierced your soul
now it lies in fragments
of my imagination
dull shrapnel
in the company of tattered fallen
those whom i still respect

I like the abstract take on the prompt
But I'm pretty sure you left out a word in the lines;
"in the company of tattered fallen
those whom i still respect"
I think it should be,
'in the company of the tattered, fallen
those whom i still respect'
Either way,
great write.
Thanks for entering.
