(give or take)
Twenty-seven days since I last bowed
To the porcelain gods
A struggle each day, each meal
Twenty-seven battles won
(against how many losses?)
Twenty-seven reminders that there's
Hope
To win the war
How long will it last?
Another day,
Another month of battles won?
Won't last forever
But at least I've got it now
For twenty-seven days,
I've been free.
Author notes
I've been wanting to do something with time lately, and since I've been counting this, it seemed good.
This is the result of insomnia, caffeine, and a desperate urge to end my writer's block... which means it probably fails completely. I may edit later, if the mood strikes.
I've been battling with bulimia for well over a year now. I've been trying to stop. I haven't purged in... (guess how many) twenty-seven days. I don't doubt that I'll relapse, but for now, I'm trying my hardest.
First impressions?

That's a start... naming it...
Dr. Phl says that if we can name it we can change it. You named it... For six years I've done volunteer work on the Dr. Phil Website posting help information so even if you don't need link below... If someone drops by who could benefit... you just helped someone since had I not return the favor for you're taking time to read my poem I wouldn't have posted link below. I hope helps some yet, if not, we can chalk it up to "it is the thought that counts."
