A rolling curl of creaming surf
Laps gently on the sandy shore
A Seagull screams abuse from high
Atop a pinnicle of air
A skittering flock of Dunlin whirr
Low and fast, a touch of smoke
A pair of Terns , dance, dive and soar
To catch a meal that's unaware
A Cormorant hangs it's wings to dry
A crucifix for sun and air
A Seal rolls over on a rock
Finding warmth, returns to doze
A gentle puff of breeze that stirs
A little sand between my toes
A patch of shingle, murmurs low
While Pebbles play a washboard tune
That's a slice of day I watch
Sitting on this hot sand dune.

You really bring your "slice of day" alive with some wonderfully descriptive phrases and lines. I particularly like "A crucifix of sun and air" and "While pebbles play a washboard tune."
Best of luck in the contest,
Bill
