Scared To Think

I am afraid.
In the silence
To let my mind wander.
The thoughts,
That I close off
From everyone around me
Can be frightening.
The abyss,
Deep inside,
Is for me and me only.
These thoughts,
I lock behind iron gates.
But sometimes,
they can slip through the bars.
They make me scared
to think.
When I am all alone,
some of the thoughts I can think of,
can be terribly frightening.

I am often scared,
of things that no one
of any age
should think about.
Dying,
thinking about the world’s
endless questions,
that can drive a person insane.
The thoughts about
if I did things differently
and if they would have had a different
outcome in the end.
These thoughts
these many, frightening thoughts,
everyone,
you,
me,
them,
has them.
We don’t talk about them
or discuss them
because we are all afraid,
one way or another.
We hide our thoughts,
underneath fake smiles
and laughter.

What if the person sitting next to you
was here one day and
gone the next,
because you did something?
Something so small,
You didn’t even realize you did it?

And when you start to think
about how
you can’t change it,
And how
the world probably meant for it to happen,
these are the thoughts
that scare everyone.

    Interesting

This is a very troubling writting, you are at an age where you fit neither in the childs world or the adults. You need to get away from the mundane and find something fun and interesting like girls sports or books for your age. Poetry is a good thing, it allows you to express your innerself, but do not use it to feed the dark thoughts and things that frighten you.

    A BEAUTIFUL SHARING!!!!

Yes, most of us have these sad and terrifying thoughts and they can become overwhelming. One should dare to open up with friends and let them share with you the warmth and love of true friendship. 's

    You spoke my mind:
Even I have thought about this a lots of time.

    I especially loved these lines:

    The thoughts about
    if I did things differently
and if they would have had a different
    outcome in the end.
    These thoughts
    these many, frightening thoughts,
    everyone,
    you,
    me,
    them,
    has them.

I guess its so relative to everyone, thoughts about death, a constant ponder about things that went wrong and then cursing oneself or thinking if the things would have turned the other way if this or that would have been done instead of what happened. We find ourself in a deep pit of thoughts and thoughts only that drive us crazy. You have potrayed them all in a very concise manner, the inner turmoil and conflict.Well done!!!
