Wandering through streets of despair,
You find lives of needs and desires,
Those desperate to be seen as worthy,
To be taken serious, just for once.
Around the next corner, you find children,
Looking for hope and inspiration,
A door to open a future of happiness,
The opportunity to shine like a star.
Along the roads we travel,
We come across many, who just wish,
Those who have fallen,
While all they need is a helping hand.
Guidance to a better life,
Help to stand up,
Hope to gain acknowledgement,
Just to be understood, for once.
A mother whose child is lost,
Who needs extra eyes to find them.
A stranger lost in a new town,
Looking for directions.
A father, desperate to work
All he needs is an open door.
A fallen soldier, home from the war,
Looking for aid, just to survive his injuries.
A stricken motorist in the middle of nowhere,
All they need is a lift to the nearest garage.
How easy it would be to stop and help.
And show life is worth every minute.
Seeing an ailing pedestrian, seeking medical care
What would it take to call an ambulance, seconds?
But what a difference it would make,
To take them to hospital, then and there.
That golden hour is all they have,
That 60 minutes of hope is all they need,
Those 3600 seconds of your life, given to them,
May just be all that is needed.
So next time you come across the needy,
Stop and think a while.
How long would it take to go that extra mile?
And give them a chance, to just survive.

This is very well written. It flows perfectly and it really portrays the idea of helping one another. I honestly have no suggestions on how to improve it. Well done!
