little did they know that all would come to an end
spirits flowed in the warm living room
huge logs burned on the fire
orange fuel lit up all the place,
no less than the smiles and Christmas Cheer
every drink you can imagine stood on the
hearth, brandy, whisky glasses flowed,
to see them together at once
was a joy but also a rare occurence
they came from all over you see
came for miles but that didn't deter
tradition called, through snow and Church bells
they travelled far, Tricky Bill did his
tap dancing whilst playing the spoons
the carpet rolled back so that his feet could
clack. Everyone laughed and everyone clapped
he was known for his party trick him on
his own ....
but now the years had flown away, new people
now had come to stay this year was the first for them
Christmas Eve lights were lit, when a clacking sound began
to tap, they looked at each other asking 'what was that'
it continued to rap, they looked everywhere but couldn't
see where it was at, it went on for hours till the clock struck twelve
then it stopped ..
