Memories are cold arms
gripping fingers pierce
my heart
keeping me in bondage
unable to break
free
Holding on with insane devotion
losing sight that the
bad
has consumed the
good
Dening the grave what is dead
When did our love die
a decaying shell
unnoticed
Leaving a ghost of what was
barely seen
always felt
the cold arms of memories

Wonderful And Heartfelt Poem
Hi Shelia, Very sad and heartfelt poem. Full of emotion. I can relate to these sad feelings of longing when my fiance committed suicide years ago.
Amazing imagery to draw the reader into the words. Take care.
Bless You,
Sandy

Great take on the picture! I think you captured the feel of it perfectly. An unusual use of the word dening. But quite fitting I think! Great write my friend!

Thanks much faderman for the read and nice comment! Dening the grave of what is dead...I think alot of us don't want to give up on something even when the stink of it is telling us it's long dead. HA! That's what I meant by dening the grave.
Take care my friend and keep writing when you can!
