Shallow

Oh God where have I gone.
I have become faceless, where once I could look
into this mirror and see myself as beautiful.
I cannot feel what is real any more
my heart has made me hold my head downward
people walk by and it is though I no longer
exist with in their presence.
I have become unrecognizable
to those who once loved me.
This face has become hard and shallow
I have lived without you Lord and now I am
living without myself.
Forgive me my Precious Lord, help me to get
my face back for I have learned
without you one shall become faceless.

I see a couple of places where there are run on sentences and a question mark left out but with a poem this strong, that hardly seems to matter.
And it DID win a trophy. Without God, we really aren’t much, are we?
We are so blessed that His forgiveness is so easily obtained. Good work.

    Faceless and Nameless

This brings out such a good point of what happens when we live without our Father and His Christ: we become nameless and faceless, a painful place to be, one that can become quite deadly. Well done! I really like this approach to the contest prompt of 'losing face.'

    Best wishes!
