Vampyre's Lament

Mist enshrouds my slender form, the moonbeams light my face
Pallid flesh white as virgin snow, and clothes draped with ebony lace
I am the Master’s perfect plan, a parasite amongst men
I live upon the lives of others, wallowing in the sweet moment therein

The Angels out of Heaven have nothing on me, dear
For I was spat from the depths of Hell, destined only to invoke fear
I state again, I am a parasite, be away, your skin’s so thin
Oh, but the smell of it is intoxicating, like the finest crimson wine
The tantalizing liquid that pulses through your veins is divine

Look into my eyes of gold, my face that of an Angel
Come closer, child, I bid thee hither, I must acquire just the right angle
Your heart, your blood calls out to me; please, do not ask me why
I pull you close, I feel your pulse, your flesh hot against mine
I am the perfect killer, created by my Master’s design

You look at me with innocent eyes, a child by your own right
And yet tonight you are dismayed by my dark gift and my might
A child’s perfect innocence so corrupted by the sign
In the moonlight I am beautiful, but a pentagram burns in my eyes
I listen, listen hungrily, for the whisper of your sighs

I pull you close, your head tucks in, folded against my chest
I grow my fangs and sink them in the artery I like the best
You whimper softly in a half sleep state, quietly wondering “Why?”
I taste the thick, metallic brew, uncorking the elixir of life
The heat of it fills me, chills me, reminds me of a time when I was in strife.

I lay in the streets beneath the lamps, the snowflakes on my cheeks
A stranger came from the shadows then, he watched over me for weeks
I stared into those golden eyes for hours before he claimed my mortal life
“Look now, look now,” he crowed to the night.
My pale face was empty; against my dark hair stark white

Now child I will not feed you back the life’s blood you have shared
For an innocent you are, to Heaven you will go, where you shall never be scared
When I get home, my skin flesh tone, there will be no reflection to hate tonight
I am the Master’s perfect plan, a parasite amongst men
But I have violated the sixth commandment, the sixth one out of ten

Author notes

One of my darker works involving vampires. (I use them in longer writings too, by the way, but nothing quite this severe.)

Thanks for the input! I tried to show with the last line that this vampire, this now supposed-killer had not only ended the life of an innocent child, but that the vampire was in fact Religious before her change and regretted her actions. I'm glad it worked out.
