Zack the Christmas Zebra
W. Peter Sanci Dec. 21 / 2008
I’d like to dedicate this little poem to my mom up in heaven. Mom I still love you and miss you every day of my life.
It was the week before Christmas and as usual Santa’s Workshop, and so was, for that matter the whole North Pole.
The countdown was on only 7 days left till Christmas Eve, “ The Big Night ! ” as Santa and the Elves used to say, as
Santa made one of his evening strolls.
“ My gosh, but we have an awful lot of
good little boys and girls on my list this year don’t we Zack ? ”
Pg 2
Santa was speaking to Zack, his newly acquired Zebra, a f substitute Reindeer in case one of the regulars got ill on Christmas Eve. “ I don’t think I’d be able to fly the old sleigh with only 7 reindeer, ” he confided to Zack, who nodded back.
“ Well now Zack, ” Santa went on to say, “ Can you name me all of my regular riendeer’s names ? ”
“ Why of course, Santa. ” Zack repled confidently.
“ There’s Vixen, Blitzen, and Dancer, and Prancer, Comet and Cupid, and also Dollar. ”
“ Very good ! ” said Santa, “ but aren’t you forgetting some one very special. ”
“ No way Santa, ” continued Zack, ”
Pg. 3
“ He’s the most famous reindeer of them all, Rudolfh, the Red Nose Reindeer. ”
Well old Santa sighed a deep sigh of relief.
“ Zack, you passed ! You are now my main substitute Zebra / Reindeer. ”
A giant cheer went up all over the North Pole !
