removed
but not forgotten
hole where it once was
covered now with new hair
no one even knows but me
maybe invisible to their eyes
yet that "c" word scares all who know
the mental pain inflicted by this disease
Author notes
Had a skin cancer removed a few months ago on my scalp. Doctor said he got it all. Do not need any more surgery.

Cancer is such an impersonal predator that strikes all indiscriminately but thank goodness it can be thwarted and treated many times. I am thankful you have had good results
and hope you continue to do so my friend. Thanks for sharing this thoughtful poem.

Oh Wow
I'm in awe at your strength to share your personal pain. I'm so glad to hear that the doctor got it all. I personally am afraid of getting skin cancer from being in the sun so much as a kid. I'm glad you got your new hair back and it all must have been so scary. Again I'm so glad you are alright.
Excellent poem written with personal brilliance and a humble, loving spirit.
Wishing You Many Blessings,
Much Love Always,
Kelle Marie
