Running Away With Dignity

Why are you running away from me
am I not, what you thought I would be.
You sold me out and you told me those lies
but now I see through your tainted disguise.
You will blame me for your failures in life
you will proclaim that I've caused you such strife.
I will not let, my soul collect dust
you cannot see that your love was just lust.

Now I am running away from you
I realize that this love was untrue.
Giving my soul, to you was so wrong
and I guess that I knew that all along.
Wasting my time as I tried to repair
false brittle bonds with a girl who can't care.
This is the last time that I'll play the game
you should know that I'm no longer the same.

I know the things you don't want me to know
how you will not let your vengeful past go.
Playing the upper hand, acting so tough
you lose again 'cause I'm calling your bluff.
I do not hate in fact I wish you well
